Flowers

A month ago, booking a wedding florist never even crossed my mind. If there is one thing I am so hell bent on DIY'ing, it's the flowers. I had it all planned out. I already forced 2 of my college friends to do the reception flowers, create your own bouquet for the entourage, potted flowers for the ceremony, the groom will do the bridal car flowers- although I did got a violent reaction for this!

told yah, potted flowers are so nice!

i won't mind having these beauties

Wedding flowers are just so darn overrated and expensive. I don't care if the flowers are imported or not. I just want something that still has soul ( read: and this is me wishing both our moms are willing to do our flowers), imperfect arrangements created by people who loves us dearly.

But enough with the drama.

Maybe when Lucas decides to get married one day, I'll volunteer to do the flowers. Or not.

I discovered the floral artist through a wedding blog as well. Joel Faller is so down to earth and easy to deal with and he was offering a promo last weekend during the Tagaytay Wedding Expo and so we just had to book him right away.

And my dreams of creating my own bouquet died on the spot and we were both unbelievably happy!

Our wedding colors

I don't want to have a wedding color but since I got all negative reactions every time I say i don't know what our wedding motif is, here goes my short list.

Entourage
Champagne
Baby pink

Flowers
Green
White
Pastels

And please don't ask me about the color palette. I want it all mismatched.

Flower Girl Gowns

Mommies, Please dress your little girls in baby pink colored dresses, preferably ankle length. If you are clueless what exact shade of baby pink, no worries. As long as it's light pink and not fuschia, it's perfect.

We will provide a wreath hair piece of fresh flowers for the little ladies.

Sample photos below

Groomsmen Suits

Please suit up in black 2 piece suits. No vest necessary, unless you want to upstage the groom! White long sleeves polo underneath with black slim cut tie.

Bridesmaid Dresses

Please dress yourselves pretty in cocktail above-the-knee dresses. Choose colors from champagne to lighter shades of brown, and neutral colored shoes. Yes, you are so free to wear the best dress you can find that will flatter you in every angle possible. Please be modest though (read: no plunging necklines) with your choice of dress as we are having a church ceremony.

What? No couturier? No specific color and design?
Yep, I simply don't buy the idea of dressing up adults in shiny uniformed gowns that will obviously be unwearable after the wedding. Sorry but it's just not me.

Don't worry about the mismatched look. It's what I'm after for.

Reception- Balay Indang

Balay Indang is a bed & breakfast inn located in Indang, Cavite. Balay (an Ilocano word for house) is like a garden refuge for weary souls so typical of city dwellers like us. Even before we went to the place for an ocular, I knew it would be the perfect venue for our intimate wedding.

There are two dining areas- indoor and outdoor. I am still undecided though where we will hold the reception venue.

We went back last August with my side of the family for our first food tasting and after our hearty lunch, everyone literally dozed off the pool area because of the peacefulness of the place. After dinner, guests will transfer here in the pool area for the wedding program, dessert, and booze.

Balay Indang has 17 rooms in 4 different cottages. The rooms are very spacious and cozy and the good news is that they are offering discount off their published rates for our wedding guests. Please see discounted wedding guests room rates here.
